The Bible – up to date!

22 02 2011

Its amazing how the Bible, written so many thousands of years back, is so alive and real even today. And I don’t mean “casual” real. I mean REAL, TRUE & ALIVE! No matter what the skeptics say, I am convinced that the Bible is the spoken word of God. It is relevant today! It speaks to me, an fairly well educated adult, the same way it speaks to a teenager living in a cosmopolitan city or to 70 year old living in a remote village in Kerala. God guides all these people through the same Bible. The bible provides solutions t0 problems that are faced by these three completely different  people with such a diverse socio-economic background and cultural exposure. I am sure this truth has been stated by many individuals and with better words and clarity. But it dawned on me only recently that the Bible cannot be limited by any dimension! It surpasses everything. What else do you expect? It cannot be taken lightly when we say it is the WORD OF GOD!

I was reading Nehemiah last week(I think it was the first time I was reading it. I know!! :( ) As I was studying it, I felt like I was reading a training manual for management studies. I thought it was so beautiful how God has provided a way for us to learn project management biblically!! MBA craze is at its peak in our country right now! But what better than a Christian Management program. Passion & compassion, resource management, time management, communication skills,  analysis & design and even employee satisfaction! Can it get any clearer that the bible can never go ‘out of fashion’?

Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away

i remember reading the old testament as a kid and thinking that for a 2000-4000 year old book, the bible was so well documented(no printing/recording back then!).
truly God’s word never passes away nor does it lose relevance over time. how fortunate the David’s,Abraham’s, Moses’ and Solomon’s, immortalized in word and spirit.
